Finally The Floor!

We got the floor finished in one and a half days. Dallin's dad took the night off and came down and they got started that night and then Dallin took the next day off, Dallin and his dad worked on it all day. I got home and Dallin and I finished. There wasn't much left but we got it done. All we have left now is trim and decorations. Yippee!

I love our new cabinets!

Sunday, November 29, 2009

For the next couple days we painted, it was nice not to have to worry about getting paint on the floor. It went so fast. It turned out so nice too!

And MORE!

The last part of the demo was the floor! I actually helped quite a bit on this part.....yeah for me!

More Kitchen Remodel....Getting Close

Then we took all the bottom cupboards and the counter tops out. This was easy.....for me since Dallin did all the lifting. I only helped take the pantry out.

Halloween 2009

We had quite a few trick-or-treaters this year. We almost ran out of candy. Here is some of Dallin's family that stopped by. Breezy (Dallin's cousin's little girl) was a cute little lady bug, Bridger (Dallin's cousin) was a little fireman, Chelsea (Dallin's sister) was a rockstar and her daughter Taezly was the cutest Minnie Mouse I've ever seen. I love to see what people dress up as. All these costumes we AWESOME! Good job guys.

Happy Halloween!

We dressed up for halloween at work it was so fun to see what everybody came up with. Mom was an awesome scarecrow and I went as Pippi Longstocking. It was a blast!

Then we (or Dallin) cut through the living room side and Ta Da we have a hole in the wall! Soon we'll have a bar on the other side of the wall. This opens the house up so much. It makes our tiny kitchen feel a bit bigger. Dallin has done most of the work I am just here for support and to clean up after him. We even went and got a new stove that isn't quite so plain and old fashioned as this one, yeah for us!

Hole in the Wall!

The kitchen side was first, we cut through the sheetrock and then the plaster and wood slats. Gotta love old houses.

The cupboards come down! HOORAY!

My sister Kandise helped me pack the cupboards up so Dallin could take them down. The kitchen is looking bigger already.

The Start Of A Kitchen Remodel

So it's official we started our remodel in the kitchen and what a mess. Dallin started by cutting out a doorway in the laundry room for a new bathroom door. Then he closed off the doorway in the kitchen. It is going to be so nice when we are finished. The next step is to cut out an opening to open the kitchen up into to the front part of the house. I can't wait to see the finished project.

Lake Powell September 17-20th 2009

This summer we actually made it to Lake Powell and what a trip! It was just Dallin, Me, Guyle, Sallie, Chelsea and Taezly. We headed down on Thursday morning got there and got the houseboat to our spot. The rest of the weekend was history. We did a little fishing, sleeping, eating, swimming, boating, caught a craw dad, and Dallin even speared a fish. One trip out on the boat and it broke so we took a slow ride back to the houseboat and Dallin and Guyle spent the last part of the trip working on it. All in all the trip was great, I LOVE LAKE POWELL!

Our Trip to Alaska July 2009

Our trip was AWESOME I did not want to come back to work I need to take a week off more often. We decided to go to Alaska for our 3rd anniversary (can you believe it has been 3 years) and to see my sisters new baby. We got to Alaska at about 12:30am (2:30am our time) we were tired and we got our rental car and went to our hotel, turns out to be a 45 minute drive. Friday we woke up and went to Kimmy's and hung out all day went to the mall bought some souvenirs then went back to her house hung out played games. Saturday we went over to the air force side of the base took lots of pictures. Sunday we went to the Farmers market which is actually like a bunch of tents/booths of people selling stuff. It was like going to the carnival without all the rides. Lots of food and gifts and cool stuff like that. Then we decided that we were just going to go drive around and take pictures. That was fun. There are so many different types of churches so I started taking pictures of all these churches it was cool. The scenery up there is absolutely beautiful too. We saw two different moose right off the main highway. Monday we headed to the zoo. It was Kimmy, Dustan, me, Dallin and the two kids Their zoo was nothing like the Hogle Zoo! We took Kailey back to our hotel to stay the night with us I love that little girl so much. Tuesday we went to the Sea life center in Seward. It was a 3 hour drive but it followed the coast so it was a beautiful drive and the kids slept all the way down. It was a different story on the way back the baby cried the whole way and Kailey started to get sick of being in the car. Oh yeah Monday we were supposed to go fishing but because of all the storms they moved it to Saturday. Anyway on Wednesday we got up early and went and to the train rode the train for 3 hours to Talkeetna then from there took a jet boat tour of this river and took a short hike to an old fur trappers cabin then came back got on the train and headed back to anchorage. The whole day was 12 hours. It was SOOOO much fun. Thursday we were getting ready to go to Kim's and she called and had taken Mackenzy to the ER and needed us to come get Kailey so she could eat. We went and got her, ate and then just hung out. Kimmy got home about 3-4 in the afternoon and we just hung out. Friday we were headed to ride the tram and find the tunnel. On our way we stopped and took pictures of all the glaciers they were so cool and I could not believe how blue they were. We found the tunnel (that we had to be to by 6:30 so that we could get to our boat) then we went and rode the tram to the top of a mountain had lunch took some pictures and went back to Kimmy's got to her house about 1:30 then at about 3 we headed to this giant indoor water park they have. It was so cool I didn't want to leave. We left the water park at 7 (Dallin didn't go cause he didn't feel good) we went home and got ready for fishing and went to bed neither one of us slept very good I think we each got about 2 hours of sleep that night. We got up at 3 and left our room by 4 and got to the tunnel at 6 we had to be there by 6:30 in order to make it through in time. We went and got on the boat and headed out it was a 2 1/2 hour ride to the fishing spot. After we got set up it only took a couple hours and we had caught our limit it was tons of fun. We got back and had to hurry and find someplace to package it and ship it home and we barely made the tunnel back. When we got back to our hotel it was 9 and we hadn't even started packing so we packed ran to the store and then went to bed at about 1-2 got up at 5 and headed to Kimmy's threw some stuff in Kailey's bag and headed to the airport. We almost missed our flight that would have sucked Kailey was so good on the plane. We landed at 3:45 and got to my house around 6. The trip was absolutely amazing. It was so nice to see my sisters and the kids I sure wish they lived closer. It rained on us 8 out of 10 days but we still had so much fun. It didn't get dark until about 12-1 and then it was light again by 4-5, that was really weird. I can't get over all the stuff to see up there, the roads are just lined with forests it always seemed like a drive up the canyon.
